Christopher WonAdvisory Council Member
원용하 Christopher Yongha Won (he/them) is a Gay, Third-Culture Kid/1.5-Generation, and neurodivergent Korean educator, designer, and advocate. Chris was born in Seoul, raised in Boston (Massachusett), and spent several years in Juneau (Tlingit) before moving to New York City (Lenni-Lenape) via a solo cross-country camping road trip. Chris' vocational research focuses on belongingness through the lens of anti-colonial education. His curiosity and passion have led him to serve in various teaching, youth services, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (D.E.I.), and higher education roles, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska, Juneau School District, University of Alaska Southeast, Columbia University School of Social Work, Columbia University Institute of Human Nutrition, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and most recently, CUNY Brooklyn College, where he was the Director of the AANAPISI (Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Serving Institute) federal grant. Outside of his career, Chris loves to eat (pun intended) and cook, go camping and hiking, listen to film scores, make art, and spend time with his dog, Tofu. |
