Hi! I'm Momo, and I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Molecular, Cellular, & Developmental Biology and a minor in Education from UC Santa Cruz. Though I have many years teaching molecular biology and organic chemistry, as a queer, 1st generation mixed Japanese-American person, I have a lot of interest in research in Asian American sexuality and gender. Since graduating, I have been redirecting my career goals into something more aligned with the life path I see fit with my true passions. I especially reflect a lot on the experiences of queer, lesbian, and trans Asian American people. I think a lot about our histories in immigration and war that make us seek channels for heritage preservation and, with that, self preservation. I like to focus on the fetishization of East and Southeast Asian bodies, and particularly our genitalia, in Northern America. If you are in STEM, interested in changing career paths, or love talking about sexuality & gender, education, cooking, and spiritual & emotional growth, I think we’d be a fantastic fit. |
