Empowering the next generation of AAPI leaders through cultural kinship.
The Kin Mentorship Program pairs 200 underserved AAPI undergraduates with 200 AAPI mentors from corporate employee resource groups. Over the course of six months, Kin Mentors provide structured guidance, cultural kinship, and industry-specific mentorship to help mentees achieve career goals such as securing internships and full-time jobs. For Kin Mentees, there is power in receiving mentorship from a dedicated mentor who looks like them, grew up like them, and that has been in their shoes. Through seeing what's possible, Kin Mentees become more self-empowered to dream big and professionally equipped to achieve big.

Kin Mentee Testimonials
As a program mentee, I got exposed to many different opportunities for growth, such as workshops and networking events. Being part of all this helped continue my personal career development while connecting me to other Asian American professionals looking to do the same.

The Kin Mentorship Program was instrumental in helping me recognize my existing skill sets from both my academic background and personal interests before starting my career. In addition, AAD offered a robust network and diverse opportunities like panel speakers, mentor selection, and networking events. The Kin Mentorship Program inspired me to align my passions with my skills, identify compatible industries that suited my interests and passion, and build valuable connections for my professional journey. The Program was a catalyst in taking significant steps towards achieving my career aspirations.

Kin Mentor Testimonials
Everyone always asks the age-old question: "If you could go back in time, what is one thing you would tell yourself?" Through volunteering with AAD, I get to live out the answer.

I've had an incredibly rewarding experience with the Kin Mentorship Program, thanks in large part to the excellent matching process that paired me with mentees directly in my field. AAD's mentors and staff have been fantastic, providing valuable resources and fostering a supportive community. It's the kind of environment where mentors are happy to collaborate, share resources, and even speak with other mentor's mentees. Overall, it's a rich, positive, and impactful journey and I'm excited to continue being a mentor for this program.
